Combine some bitter kale with a creamy cheese like mozzarella, sweet Italian sausage. Paired with Pastorelli’s tangy, acidic pizza sauce on top of a crunchy & thin crust, and you’re in for quite the delight to the senses. Try adding a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes for a little extra heat!
Ingredients:
- 2 Pastorelli Traditional Pizza Crusts
- 1 cup Pastorelli Pizza Sauce
- 1/2 lb Italian sausage
- 2 cups chopped kale
- 4 teaspoons olive oil, divided
- 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2oz grated parmesan cheese
- Salt & pepper to taste
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
In a large skillet, cook sausage over medium-high, breaking into small pieces until no longer pink, 8 minutes. Then, transfer to a plate lined with paper towels.
Cook chopped kale until soft in the same skillet, about 3 minutes. When it’s a bright green color, remove from skillet and set aside.
Drizzle olive oil on the Pastorelli Pizza crust before spreading Pastorelli Pizza Sauce evenly on top, working close to the edge but leaving a little room.
Top with sausage, kale, grated cheese and crushed red pepper.
Finally, cook for 10-12 minutes until the crust begins to brown. Slice and serve immediately.
