California Tomato strips in puree from California round tomatoes are made from freshly packed vine-ripened California Tomatoes style tomatoes that have been washed, peeled, hand-sorted for quality, and cut into randomly shaped tomato strips. A full-bodied puree made from fresh tomatoes is used as a packing medium. Salt and citric acid are also added for flavor.
